Yes each account is assigned a Customer Support contact to manage the account internally.

What would happen if my dedicated contact was on holiday or sick?

A temporary replacement contact would be nominated to handle your account. In practice, every account has a deputy who is regularly familiarised with progress and who is ready to take over if required.
